The Evidence Based Education System implementation strategy – in phase wise manner
Phase – I(Jan 2007 to Jan 2009) | |
01 | Soft skill Development of all faculty Members and students in areas of Computer and Internet use for searching evidance and research Metholodolgy & designing research projects. |
02 | Identifyinmg Infrastructure required for implementation Of E.B.E.S. |
03. | Development of Curriculam for Evidance Based Teaching. |
Phase – II | |
01 | Designing integrated curriculum for Undergraduate and Postgraduate to Incorporate evidences in classroom teaching and other teaching methodologies. |
02 | Supplying the infrastructure required in form of computer portals, virtual classroom, facilities of videoconferencing and audio / teleconferencing, subscribing a high speed internet connection and develop a state of art learning resource centre. These are the basic needs for EBES implementation. |
03 | RSubscribing to databases namely Cochrane network, PUBMED, Medscape TRIP Database and EBSCO, SCOPUS. |
Phase – III | |
01 | RSelf analysis of benefits of implementing EBES through-
– Assessment of acceptance amongst students and faculty by continuous performance and feedback evaluation. -Assessment of difference in approach towards subject amongst students and faculty. -By taking opinions/views/critical evaluation from international subject experts and then direct outcome measurement by taking feedback from the stakeholders for further improvement. |
02 | Reassess infrastructure provided vis-a-vis new requirements and fulfill them. |
Stage-1– Infrastructural up gradationTen stages of Implementation of EBES In Sumandeep Vidyapeeth:
Stage-2– Faculty Training programs
Stage-3-Teaching for UGs-through Evidenced Based Medical Education, Evidenced Based Dental Education, Evidenced Based Physiotherapy Education, Evidenced Based Pharmacy
Education, Evidenced Based Nursing Education in all the years of study.
Stage 4-Incoprporation of Evidence Based Component in present teaching;
UG : Incorporation of Evidence Based Teaching in traditional teaching, i.e.:
Theory (lecture series preparation and taking lectures in Evidence Based form)
Practical (Assignments)
Clinics (Role modeling and assignments)
PG : conducting Journal Clubs and ward rounds in Evidence Based form (Role modeling and assignments)
Stage-5-Evaluation of UG and PG students after teaching them EBE in Research format
Evidence Based Practice: This is practicing Evidenced Based Medicine using;
Individual experience (already exists)
Best available Evidence
Local factors
Stage-6– Preparation of Treatment protocols in all subjects with best available evidence.
Stage-7-Apply prepared protocols on the patients in Research format to evaluate the impact on local population
Stage-8-Modify the prepared protocols based on the outcome of Research and impact on local population (Identify Local Factors)
Stage-9-Apply protocols on a larger scale: then initiate Community Based Research.
Stage-10-Evaluate outcome/impact of EBES by doing Research
